Javier Ballesteros, the 21-year-old son of
the late Seve Ballesteros, made early headlines

of the lead. A law student, he followed with 73-
68 to share 12th place. It was his debut at a pro
event and was played on the same course, Sant
Cugat, where his father took his first steps on
the road to golfing immortality 38 years earlier.
